BDD teams Matching Up against LPD teams

Opinions anyone?

My only thoughts are Haysi and Honaker being the only teams that can do anything to an LPD school. Hurley and TV will be able to beat Pound probably but thats about it

Well in the regular season Haysi plays Pound and Clintwood. I am sure they can beat Pound and Clintwood should be an interesting match up. Honaker plays Appy and I'm not sure if they play anymore. Honaker will probably beat Appy. TV and Hurley don't play any LPD teams as far as I know but it is possible.

I agree Husker_fan, however of the schools mentioned, only Appalachia has a good chance of finishing in the top half of the LPD this year. If the Honaker/Appalachia game is in Appalachia, then Honaker better be ready for a tough game. Having the dishonor of playing on that rock/mud pit they call a football feild, I know how hard it is to leave there with a victory. I do foresee Honaker getting another shot at Gate City in the playoffs. However this time they they will not have to go through Powell Valley this time to get there. I am predicting here that Rye Cove wins the Cumberland as a Div 2. With Powell Valleys tough non-conferance schedule, they don't gain enough power points, leaving J.J. Kelly taking the fourth playoff spot.

Playoff spots come down to one game haysi/honaker. Gate city will of course get lpd and rye cove will get cumberland but if haysi somehow beats honaker then the battle for the wildcard spot should be really close between honaker, kelly, and clintwood. Oh and I think clintwood will definatly finish top half of LPD. They are looking good this year

oh yes and PV. They have a good chance of getting that wildcard spot cause they should have a pretty good team this year.

Colorist, I think CLintwood is going to be a bit of a surprise this year. I think they should be pretty good, myself.

I am from the old school Sportsfan. I can remember the days of coach Cummings at Clintwood. However the Green Wave program is not where it was WAY back then. And yes, I am showing my age. However, if Haysi beats Clintwood it would prove that they could only finish no better then third if they competed in the BDD. My friends from the LPD (coachs) tell me that with usual good teams, they have to include J.I. Burton and J.J.Kelly to this years' crop of true contenders. Of course I could be wrong and Clintwood could win the LPD. I have been wrong before. The one Region D team that I think could surpise people this year is Thomas Walker. ((Now that would be a long drive if Honaker should meet them in the playoffs)). Good luck to all of the BDD teams.
